The Apologetic Liberal

   At a John McCain town hall meeting today that was open to the public, a 61 year old librarian was quietly waiting outside in line to get in.  Someone came up to her and asked her to leave.  She refused, and the cops came and issued her a ticket for trespassing, and escorted her off the city property with instructions to arrest her if she came back.  Her horrible offence?  She was carrying a sign that said, “McCain = Bush.”  Now I’m sorry, but this sign is accurate to the type of people going to a John McCain town hall meeting.  They most likely voted for Bush in 2000 and 2004, and they most likely will vote for McCain based off his similar policies.  For the far left this sign also rings true.  It says that John McCain will continue the Bush tax cuts that helped us get $9 trillion dollars in debt.  It says he’ll continue the war in Iraq, thereby throwing even more money away.  He’ll continue the backwards-thinking conservative mantra of “if it’s different from us, we hate it” and thus perpetuate anti-gay, and anti-immigration legislation.   Funny enough, the only people this sign should offend are the people who know that Bush was an idiot and the worst thing to happen to this country in 80 years but are still in denial about John McCain.  I.E., the potential converts.  But hey, let’s give another cheer for more of our Bill Of Rights being trounced upon!  HIP HIP! _________ HIP HIP! __________?  Hey, you’re not cheering!     (Progress Now Action)
