U.S. Launching Covert Ops In Iran? Naaaaaah
(CNN) According to Seymour Hersh, Journalist for the New Yorker, the Bush Administration is kicking up its covert operations to spy on Iran’s nuclear facilities and undermine their government. $400 million dollars of federal funds are reportedly being used to fun the secret campaign made up of disgruntled Iranians and U.S. Special Operations troops. Naturally, the White House, CIA and State Department have all declined to comment. Various U.S. intelligence agencies have reported of Iran’s halting of their nuclear programs which, of course, brought rejection from Bush and Cheney. Ryan Crocker, the U.S. ambassador in Baghdad said, “I can tell you flatly that U.S. forces are not operating across the Iraqi boarder into Iran, in the south or anywhere else.” This is one of those responses that the people who are left in the dark in order to have plausible deniability. I’m sure we’re sending in covert troops into a lot of countries, and I’m sure Iran is no different. Hmmmmm.
